Hong Kong - Day 1

So excited! This is my first trip to Hong Kong, quite a "mountain tortoise"... never been to Hong Kong before in my whole life haha. Took Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong. This is my second time taking an economy class flight overseas. My first was during my NS days hehe.

The flight is about 3 hours 15 minutes long... upon reaching Hong Kong Airport, I am stumped by all the Chinese signage... almost lost my way in the airport LOL... But luckily still find my way to the custom. Pick up my luggage and again I was lost haha... don't know where to purchase the Octopus travel pass... walk here and there and finally found it! After that took an airport bus (A21) to the hotel (MK Hotel, Kowloon) that I will be staying which is 8 bus stops away from the airport.

Upon reaching my stop... I lost my way again and it took me about 15 minutes to find the hotel! As the hotel exterior is under heavy renovation, I didn't realised that I actually passed by it a few times! -_-" After checking in to my hotel room, to my disappointment the room is pretty small but still bearable, after all I just need a place to sleep and store my stuffs. Feeling hungry now, I just find something nearby to eat below the hotel.

Finishing my lunch, the first time that I am going to do is to recce the hotel surroundings as well as shopping for the camera stuffs that I need to buy for myself and my friends. Was shopping around Mong Kok area and finally narrow down to two shops, Citicall and Tin Chueng. Got a pretty good deal with Citicall buying 2 lenses and 2 flash from them. They did not charge me extra fee for paying by credit card and they even gave me a small discount by rounding down to the nearest dollar. Bought my second Billingham 335 bag with Tin Chueng which saves me about $80 if I buy it in Singapore. After my shopping is done, I did not do much other then continue exploring the hotel surroundings and that completes my day 1 at Hong Kong but not before finding the smelly bean curd that I had been craving for hehe.
