Kota Kinabalu - Day 2

I woke up early today at 6am, took my breakfast and get ready to make my way to Kinabalu Park HQ. After finding out from the hotel staff the night before, the correct bus terminal that i should be going to. I check out and flagged down a taxi to head to Inanam Bus Terminal to take a bus to Kinabalu Park HQ. Upon reaching the bus terminal, I am surrounded by touts trying to get my attention to use their mini bus/coach service to Kinabalu Park HQ! They are an aggressive lot and the price they quoted me is simply ridiculous... I kept my cool and just turned them down, went to a bus counter paid for my bus ticket and boarded the bus. The taxi ride to the bus terminal and the bus ride to Kinabalu Park HQ only cost me 40rm in total haha.


The bus journey to Kinabalu Park HQ will be about 2 hours... along the way, something interesting happened! The bus stopped along somewhere on the highway, then a lady alighted the bus, walked some long distance and come back with lots of stuffs and with some helpers carrying these stuffs... and all this while, everyone on the bus had to wait before the bus can continue on it's journey!


The cooling breeze greeted me upon reaching Kinabalu Park HQ. I loved it very much! I went to the counter to prepare to check in. Met a chinese couple from Beijing who is on their honeymoon on the mini bus ride to Mesilau Nature Resort provided by Kinabalu Park HQ. Found out from them that they will start their climb today.


While waiting for my room to be ready, I had lunch at the restaurant within Mesilau Nature Resort. Their fried rice is very yummy too! Then i also explored the surroundings around this resort. Finally got my room and i had a quick nap before dinner. Met another new friend from Malaysia who is sharing room/guide with me. We had dinner together, chatted a while before resting for the night.
